Description
A little humor and a bad pun for this Winter still life study of a deteriorating crimson red relic boat hull, long ago abandoned and forgotten, weather beaten and left to the elements now swallowed by time, weeds, underbrush and overgrown saplings. The history and illustrious past of this once proud working fishing boat lost to the memories of only those few who might remember.
As photographers we are sometimes unknowingly historians capturing the last fleeting images of subjects now lost or to be lost to obscurity.
I get an empty feeling inside for subjects like this knowing that something of measurable importance has been lost and has slipped away with the passing years.
Image captured here in Lubec, Maine during the last snowfall of the season, hence my title.
